Alastair Cuthbert is a highly experienced figure in Scottish financial services. He entered the profession in 1967 as a Life Underwriter with Manufacturers Life of Canada and has advised clients, built practices and held senior leadership roles through every market cycle, tax regime and regulatory era since.
Educated at Dollar Academy and Fettes College, and having completed National Service with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders in Inverness and Aden, Alastair began his working life with a commercial apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce — a grounding in discipline and commercial rigour that has shaped his approach ever since.

Alastair joined Towry Law (Scotland) as a financial consultant in 1969 and rose through the firm over two decades of sustained growth.
Joined Manufacturers Life of Canada as a Life Underwriter, beginning a career in financial services that has continued for almost six decades.
Joined Towry Law (Scotland) as a financial consultant, later progressing into senior leadership roles within the group.
Appointed Director of Towry Law (Scotland), before becoming Managing Director in 1974.
Appointed Group Managing Director of Towry Law & Co and a member of the Towry Law (Holdings) board.
Continued his career in Scotland through consultant and senior consultant roles with Aitchison & Colegrave in Glasgow.
Acquired and led Marbon Financial Services in Edinburgh as Managing Director from 1995 to 1999.
Served as Practice Director and subsequently Regional Director for Scotland with the national advisory group Inter-Alliance.
Joined Executive Wealth Services as a Consultant, bringing long-term industry perspective and senior advisory experience to the firm.
